Technology at FAS
Why Technology?
In our world today, technology plays a major role as a tool in the new growth and advancement of society. Being able to utilize/navigate this tool is an important part of educating our children to be able to play their role in changing their world.
Here at Forsan American School, we are thankful for the privilege of having technology in our classrooms. Not only do we have the physical technologies for our students to learn with; but we also have several online platforms that enable our students to be creative innovators who are engaged and take ownership in their learning.

Technology use at FAS for High School students
(Bring your own device)
What will this cost me?
If you have a laptop at home, that your student can bring to school, there will be no cost.
What kind of laptop computer is recommended if I want to purchase a new one for my child and would rather have something more powerful than a Chromebook?
What Operating System should the laptop be running on to work?
Will there be devices available if a student does not bring one from home?
Given the number of these devices already owned by students and the low or no cost options to parents, it is our expectation that students bring a laptop to school. However, we will still have our current computer labs in the high school.
As a parent, am I required to add additional software (virus protection, filter, tracking device, etc.) to my child’s technology tool?
