Our Board
The Board of Directors is responsible for the fulfillment of the mission of FAS and for policies relating to the conduct and management of the affairs of the School. FAS is governed by a 5-member Board with Mr. Ahmed Ragab who serves as the Chair. The Board of Directors of FAS is the governing body of the school. The Board ensures that the school’s legal status complies with all regulations of the MOE and other relevant authorities.

Gihan Holayel is the Principal of Riada American School with 18 years of educational leadership experience. Starting as a teacher in the KG Department, she has a passion for excellence in education and believes in creating supportive teaching and learning environments. Gihan is also an advocate for quality education as a shareholder and active board member of educational groups.
Hoda El MikatySchool Principal of Riada Language School
Hoda Elmikaty assumed the role of Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) General Coordinator in June 2020, previously serving as the BA Deputy Director from May 2016. With a background in electrical communication and parallel processing, she has been involved in various capacities within the BA, including managing the BA Planetarium Science Center and overseeing cultural outreach activities. Engineer Elmikaty is dedicated to promoting lifelong learning, empowering women in science, and breaking barriers for female advancement in various fields.
Nelly El ZayatRiada American School Principal
Nelly is a prominent figure in international education with over two decades of experience in student advising, scholarship management, admissions, curriculum design, e-learning, and bridging the education-to-job market gap. Recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Egypt, she is the Co-founder and Director of Newton Education Services and has held key positions in esteemed organizations such as AMIDEAST, the Institute of International Education, and Georgetown University. Nelly holds a Master's degree in International Education Policy from Harvard University and degrees in Middle East Studies and Economics from The American University in Cairo.
Maysa AbazaSchool Principal of Riada Language School
Mrs. Abaza has an extensive educational background, including a BA in English from the University of Alexandria and diplomas in Education and Linguistics. With a career spanning several prestigious institutions, she served as a teacher, headmistress, and principal before founding A.L.S. and R.L.S. schools, where she achieved remarkable success. Mrs. Abaza is grateful for her family, which includes a daughter, a son, and four granddaughters, and she cherishes their blessings while remembering her late husband.
